STÉPHANIE THELLEN, Choreographer
With degrees in Visual Arts and Design Arts, STÉPHANIE THELLEN has been dancing all her life. Trained by Francine Vallée, former first dancer of the Ballets métropolitains du Canada, Stéphanie gave her passion its fullest boost by founding her own dance school, the École de danse Movimento, in 2001. Her troupe enjoys great success everywhere they perform, in large events and festivals. Trained as a classical ballerina, she is also well versed in jazz ballet and contemporary dance, all of which led her to challenge herself brightly in the eclectic world of the circus. In addition to spending a year teaching dance to the students of the Montreal National Circus School, she has also been Cirque Fantastic’s official choreographer since 2000. In 2013, she also choreographed and played one on the key characters in Frédérique Cournoyer-Lessard’s short film PAS, le film qui danse.
